"Grandma, sometimes I don't know whether to believe there is a God or not." If your grandchild has said something similar to you, you can feel blessed. I did. Even though it broke my heart to see Nathanael battling this issue, I knew I was privileged to be hearing the struggles of his heart. I was being given an awesome opportunity to meet a very real spiritual need.
I was just finishing reading the book, Dinosaurs for Kids, by Ken Ham, (see Dinosaurs for Kids by Ken Ham ) with Nathanael and Noelia when he broke in with his cry for help. And it was just that, a cry for help. "Half the world believes there is a God and the other half says there isn't. Grandma, how do I know for sure who is right?"
My husband was there with us and together we showed him a few of the many prophecies from the Bible that have been, or are being fulfilled now, but that didn't really satisfy him. He needed a personal answer, one that gave him assurance that God truly was listening when he prayed. He had prayed for help in a specific area of his life, and was still waiting for victory. I knew, because I had been there, praying with him many times, before.
I was able to connect with his need, and he was able to send the accuser fleeing, as, once again, he prayed earnestly to his Heavenly Father. And for now, his heart is at rest.
Every child, will have moments when Satan's nagging voice will become almost overpowering. It's times like these that a child needs a dedicated Christian grandparent.
I am blessed to have my grandchildren close by, but even if they lived far away, I would try to keep close with the telephone and internet. Grandparenting is sooo, sooo, sooo important.
For the last post go to: Sometimes Grandparents get Sick
As Christian Grandparents we do have an important role to play. Lets work together to save our grandchildren.
What can we do as Christian Grandparents?
Christian grandparents can make a difference. All Grandparents are special. Christian Grandparents should be extra special. All Grandparents have a lasting influence on their grandchildren. A Christian grandparent should have a godly influence that lasts for eternity.
I would love to hear from other Christian Parents and Grandparents as we address some very important issues.
